Historical Event
Israelites Crossed the Jordan River
10 Nisan
Location
Jordan River
The Israelites, led by Yehoshua, crossed the Jordan River on dry ground into Eretz Yisrael. They erected twelve stones at Gilgal as a memorial (Yehoshua 3-4). The date deliberately echoed the 10th of Nisan in Egypt, linking the entry into the Land with the original redemption.
