Rav Moshe ben Yosef MiTrani (Mabit)

Rav Moshe ben Yosef MiTrani, the Mabit (1505-1585), one of four scholars to receive special semicha from Yaakov Beirav in Tzefat (1538), alongside Rav Yosef Karo, Rav Moshe Cordovero, and Rav Yosef Sagis. Author of Kiryat Sefer and Beit Elokim, he served as a leading halachic authority in Tzefat during its golden age.
