Rav Shalom Dov Ber Schneerson (1860-1920), the 5th Lubavitcher Rebbe, known as the Rebbe Rashab. He founded the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva network in 1897 and waged a tireless battle against the Soviet regime's suppression of Jewish life. He authored hundreds of major tracts on Chassidic thought. His final words: 'I'm going to heaven; I leave you the writings.'
