Rav Shlomo Wolbe (1916-2005), famed mashgiach and author of Alei Shur, a foundational work of mussar for the modern yeshiva student. Born in Berlin, he studied in the Mir Yeshiva in Europe and after World War II served as mashgiach in Yeshivat Be'er Yaakov in Israel for decades. His Alei Shur combined classical mussar thought with practical guidance for spiritual growth.
