Rav Yechezkel Levenstein

Mashgiach of Ponevezh (1885-1974). Born in Warsaw, he lost his mother at age 5. He learned in Radin with the Chafetz Chaim and in Kelm under Rav Tzvi Hirsch Broide. He served as mashgiach in Kletsk, Lomza in Petach Tikvah, Mir, and finally -- upon the passing of Rav Dessler -- at Ponevezh.
