Yehoshua bin Nun

Traditional yahrzeit of Yehoshua bin Nun, the faithful servant and successor of Moshe Rabbeinu. He led the Israelites into Eretz Yisrael, conquered the Land in a campaign lasting seven years, and divided it among the tribes over the following seven years. He was buried in Timnat Serach in Har Ephraim (Yehoshua 24:29-30). Tradition attributes to him the composition of the second paragraph of Birkat HaMazon.
