Yitzchak Ben-Zvi

Yahrzeit of Yitzchak Ben-Zvi (1884–1963), the second President of the State of Israel (1952–1963). A scholar, author, and lifelong advocate for Jewish communities of the East, he devoted much of his academic work to documenting the history and customs of Sephardic and Oriental Jewish communities.
