The Maharit Algazi (1727-1802). One of the main students of the kabbalist Rav Shalom Sharabi. His father, Rav Yisrael Yaakov, was av beis din in Izmir for over 40 years. Rav Yom Tov studied together with the Chida as a youth. He served as rosh yeshiva of Beis Kel and as Rishon LeTzion. His halachic works include Shu"t Simchas Yom Tov, Hilchos Yom Tov, and Kedushas Yom Tov.
