Destined / Soulmate

Bashert (from Yiddish, with roots in the German word for destiny) refers to one's divinely destined soulmate or anything that is 'meant to be.' The Talmud teaches that forty days before a child is born, a heavenly voice declares who their future spouse will be. The concept reflects a deep Jewish belief in divine providence guiding human relationships and life events.
