About “Hope” in Hebrew

Tikvah is best known from 'Hatikvah' (The Hope), Israel's national anthem, which speaks of the 2,000-year-old Jewish hope to return to the Land of Israel. The city of Petach Tikvah (Gateway of Hope) was one of the first Zionist settlements. Hope is considered a fundamental Jewish value—the belief that tomorrow can be better sustained the Jewish people through centuries of exile.
