About the Weekly Torah Portion

The Torah portion of the week (Parashat Hashavua) is the section of the Five Books of Moses read aloud in synagogues every Shabbat. The Torah is divided into 54 weekly portions, completing the entire cycle from Genesis through Deuteronomy each year on Simchat Torah.

Our unique interactive tool lets you see the biblical locations mentioned in each Torah portion on a satellite map of Israel. Click any location pin to view photos of the actual site as it appears today, connecting the ancient text to the modern landscape.

Each Torah portion page includes the full Hebrew and English text displayed side by side, divided by the seven aliyot (readings). You can also explore a detailed section-by-section outline highlighting key themes, characters, and events.
