This painting is a poem in brushstrokes, an ode to the paths we travel in life.
Inspired by one of my favorite hikes just 8 minutes from my home, I wanted to place the emphasis in the painting on the vertical dirt road unfolding before me. Interestingly, there was a small, almost hidden path behind the olive tree leading up the mountain that initially caught my eye.
It reminded me of the final lines in Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken:
